Kuvempu house as Museum, a welcome decision

Sir,

Conversion of Poet Laureate Kuvempu’s residence as a Museum is a welcome decision taken by the authorities concerned, though belatedly.

The house of Mysuru-based English writer R.K. Narayan at Yadavagiri was under demolition but wisdom prevailed on the authorities and it was stalled. Now it is renovated and converted into a Museum.

Conversion of Kuvempu’s residence ‘Udayaravi’ into a Museum will go a long way in perpetuating the memory of this doyen of Kannada litérature, who drew inspiration under its shelter to churn out many memorable works including the great epic ‘Sri Ramayana Darshanam’.
