Kuvempu’s literature is global in nature: Prof. C. Naganna

Mysore/Mysuru: Noted writer and former University of Mysore Prasaranga Director Prof. C. Naganna said that Kuvempu’s literature which is comprehensive in all respects is global in nature and widely accepted.

He was delivering a talk on ‘Kuvempu Sahitya Darshana’ at Ramakrishna Paramahamsa Jatra Mahotsav jointly organised by Jatra Mahotsava Samiti, Sri Ramakrishna Seva Sangha, Viveka Balaga, Sri Ramakrishna Seva Balaga, Sri Ramakrishna Ashram and Ramakrishna Samskrutika Mattu Kreeda Samiti, at Ramakrishna Paramahamsa Circle here last Thursday.

 Prof. Naganna pointed  out  that Kuvempu’s literature is widely accepted across the globe, because of its valuable thoughts. Noting that Kuvempu’s literature has delved on a host of topics such as spiritual, material, religious, social, scientific, academic, ideology, politics, history etc., he said that all of them are expressive in nature and have laid out moral paths for both the national and international community.

Maintaining that Kuvempu was often referred to as ‘Nisarga Kavi’ (Poet of Nature), he said that the poet laureate had great knowledge of other issues concerned with human life. The books written by Kuvempu on Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Swami Vivekananda and other personalities are widely read across the globe, he added.

Singer Sridevi and team and singer Phanish Hulkerekoppal presented vocal concerts.

Former MLC D. Madegowda, Jatra Mahotsava Samiti President Dr. S.P. Yoganna of Suyog Hospital and others were present.
