KUWJ to present State-level endowment awards to Journalists tomorrow

Mysore/Mysuru: The State- level Endowment awards (28 in number) will be presented to journalists at a programme organised by Karnataka Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ), Bengaluru, in association with Mysuru District Journalists Association (MDJA) at Rajendra Kalamandira on Ramanuja Road at 10.35 am tomorrow (Mar. 18).

KUWJ President Shivanand Tagadur, speaking to SOM, said that preparations are underway for the event and a welcome arch has been erected at the entrance to the venue. This for the first time that the event is being organised in the Cultural City of Mysuru, he added.

MDJA President S.T. Ravikumar, Vice-Presidents Dharmapura Narayana and M.S. Basavanna, Secretary Rangaswamy, Rural Secretary Mahadev, Executive Committee Member B. Raghavendra and others visited the venue this morning and supervised the preparations.

The award winning Journalists are: D. Umapathi (Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar award), Ravindra Bhat (Gommata Maadhyama award), Nagamani S. Rao (Yashodamma G. Narayana award), B.V. Mallikarjunaiah (DVG award), G. Veeranna (Patil Puttappa award), Vasanth Nadiger (S.V. Jayasheelarao award), Arunkumar Habbu (Dr. M.M. Kalaburgi award), K.N. Ravi (H.K. Veerannagowda award),  Chandrashekar Siddappa Jigajinni (Kidi Sheshappa award), Munjane Satya (P.R. Ramaiah award), Dr. Mohammad Bhasha Goolyam (H.S. Doreswamy award), M.G. Prabhakar (P. Ramaiah award), Srishail G. Mathad (Ma. Ramamurthy award), N. Basavaraj (Garudanagiri Nagaraj award), G.R. Satyalingaraju (Mahadeva Prakash award), Nagaraj Shenoy (Shivamogga Minchu Srinivas award), R.N. Siddalingaswamy (H.S. Rangaswamy award), Dr. Ulliyada M. Poovaiah (M. Nagendrarao award), Siraj Bisaralli (Abhimaani Prakashana award), Jayateertha Patil (Gudihalli Nagaraj award), S.G. Tungarenuka (Appajigowda Cinema award), D.N. Shambhavi (Girijamma Rudrappa Talikote award), Narayan Hegde (T.K. Malagonda award) and Vijaya Karnataka, Bengaluru (R. Shamanna award for best Page Layout design).

This apart, senior journalists Jayalakshmi Sampathkumar, H.N. Arathi, S.M. Jambukeshwar and K. Deepak will be conferred with a special award. 

Former High Court Judge Justice H.N. Nagmohandas will inaugurate the programme. KUWJ President Shivanand Tagadur will preside. Senior Journalist and former Outlook magazine editor Krishna Prasad will deliver the keynote address while MDJA President S.T. Ravikumar will deliver the inaugural address. Vijayavani editor K.N. Channegowda, Senior Journalist G.N. Mohan, Mayor Shivakumar, MLA S.A. Ramdas, Hotelier M. Rajendra and Mysuru Hotel Owners Association President C. Narayanagowda will be the Chief Guests.
