L. Venkatakrishna Shastri (86), retd. employee of Government Text Books Press, former Vice-President of The Mysore City Co-Operative Housing Society, who was serving as its present Director and a resident of Vidyaranyapuram, passed away on Friday in city.

He had also served as the Director of Khadar Co-operative Society and Brahmana Mahasabha. He leaves behind his wife, two sons, grand-children and a host of relatives and friends.

Last rites were held at the foot of Chamundi Hill yesterday.
