Labourer injured in construction site dies at K.R. Hospital

Mysuru: A construction labourer, who was seriously injured, when a tyre basket in which concrete mixture was being lifted to the top floor of an under-construction building in Hootagalli here, broke and fell on him, succumbed to injuries at K.R. Hospital here on Sunday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Shivaiah (35), a resident of Jainahalli in K.R. Pet taluk.

Shivaiah, on Sunday afternoon, was working at the construction site in Hootagalli, where one Dinesh was constructing a house. Shivaiah had filled the tyre basket with concrete mixture and was lifting it up through a lift, when the binding wires used to secure the basket with the chain, broke midway and fell on Shivaiah, injuring him seriously.

Though Shivaiah was rushed to K.R. Hospital, he breathed his last after failing to respond to the treatment.

Vijayanagar Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
