Lack of fodder, vision impairment leads to elephant’s death

Madikeri: A female elephant, suffering from loss of vision, which was found roaming in villages at Harangi backwaters in search of food since one-and-a-half months has died.

The female elephant, aged about 35 years, was found lying exhausted at Sajjalli village in Harangi backwaters area near Somwarpet and was provided treatment. But the elephant did not respond to the treatment and has breathed its last.
