Laptop, cellphone thief arrested

Mysuru – Jayalakshmipuram Police have arrested a person on charges of lifting a laptop and a mobile phone worth about Rs. 40,000 and have recovered both from him.

The arrested person has been identified as 32-year-old Natesh, a resident of Manchegowdanakoppal, who is working in the Electrical Department at SJCE.

It is reported that on Mar. 14, a student had kept her bag containing Motorola mobile phone and Dell laptop on the chair and was watching the dance rehearsal being held in the College auditorium. After watching the rehearsal, the student noticed the bag missing and had lodged a complaint at Jayalakshmipuram Police Station on Apr. 2.

The Police, who had registered a case in this regard, took up the investigation and based on the call details of the mobile phone after it was stolen, the Cops took Natesh into custody.

During interrogation, the accused is said to have confessed of stealing the mobile phone and the laptop. Based on the information provided by the accused, the Police have recovered the phone and the laptop.

Jayalakshmipuram Inspector C.M. Ravindra, ASI Suresh, staff N. Lokesh, Siddiqui Ahmed and Prakash, took part in the nabbing and seizing operation.
