Late M.P. Shankar’s wife passes away

Mysore/Mysuru: Manjula Shankar, wife of sandalwood’s renowned actor-producer late M.P. Shankar, passed away yesterday following a heart attack.  She was 75.

Manjula Shankar was hospitalised a few days ago following illness. She was diagnosed with heart-related ailments and angiogram was performed. Funeral took place at Vidyaranyapuram burial grounds in city yesterday, according to family sources.

M.P. Shankar, who starred in hundreds of films and produced several films, died in 2008. People still remember M.P. Shankar’s ‘Veerabahu’ role in Dr. Rajkumar-starrer ‘Satya Harishchandra.’ Shankar had also produced ‘Gandhada Gudi’ starring the late actors Dr. Rajkumar and Dr. Vishnuvardhan.
