Mysuru: The Mysuru Book Clubs Charitable Trust, in collaboration with the Rathna Family, has organised a programme at Devegowda Hall of Rotary Centre, JLB Road, on June 20 at 11 am for the launch of ‘Every Peck a Rainbow,’ a new poetry collection by Kavita Ratna, a poet and children’s rights activist.
This special literary event will celebrate the expressive power of English poetry, with a spotlight on haiku and micro poems. It promises to be a vibrant confluence of literature, emotion and reflection — bringing together eminent literary voices and devoted readers.
This Red River Publication will be officially released by the eminent Professor Dr. H.S. Shivanna, who will also share his thoughts about the book. Celebrated academic Professor B.N. Balajee will render selected verses through a curated recitation, accompanied by his insightful commentary.
A highlight of the event will be a conversation between the renowned author Dr. Krishna Manavalli and Kavita Ratna, offering the audience an intimate glimpse into her poetic journey.
A nominee for both the Pushcart Prize (2023) and the Touchstone Award (2024), Kavita Ratna’s poetry has appeared in distinguished National and International journals, including Presence, The Asahi Shimbun, Muse India, Poetry Pea and The Mamba. Her debut collection, ‘Sea Glass,’ was appreciated for its lyrical beauty and social resonance.
‘Every Peck a Rainbow’ is dedicated to three remarkable women — Premalatha Rathna, Vijaya Sindhuvalli and Rathna Vishwanath — making the occasion a deeply personal and heart-felt tribute.
The event will conclude with a vote of thanks by Kitty Mandanna of the Mysuru Book Clubs Charitable Trust. The programme will be anchored by Ajit Rathna.
