Mysore/Mysuru: The Police Department has left no stone unturned in providing elaborate security to ensure that the Dasara festival passes off smoothly and without any untoward incidents.
City Police Commissioner Ramesh Banoth took an active role in ensuring the safety of all citizens and visitors during the festival. He was in constant communication with the heads of all Police Stations, City Armed Reserve (CAR), Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP), Mounted Police, State Intelligence Branch, and other Police units.
Aiding him was DCP M. Muthuraj with the goal of providing foolproof security during the festivities, coordinating forces from the District Police unit, officials, and staff of all Police Stations in the Southern Range, and giving instructions to the Palace security officials.
One noteworthy security setup was the Mobile Command Centre vehicle, a state-of-the-art resource that will operate round-the-clock during Dasara to respond to any emergencies.
The Mobile Command Centre is equipped for extensive surveillance, particularly during major events and VVIP visits.
With the equivalent of a thousand eyes within a large area, this high-tech vehicle, featuring all the functions of a Police Control Room, this vehicle was stationed strategically to capture real-time footage of all critical locations. It is armed with 19 cameras, including four around the mobile unit, four jacket cameras, and a drone camera.
To further bolster security, a total of 18 Anti Sabotage Check teams, 18 Dog Squads and three Bomb Detection and Disposal Squads were deployed. Checks were conducted at key locations, including Railway Station, Bus Stands, Airport, Mysore Palace premises, Dasara Expo Grounds, Kalamandira, Scouts and Guides Grounds, Torchlight Parade Grounds in Bannimantap and other venues.
