Hunsur: A lawyer was killed when a car hit his bike from behind near Jadaganakoppal Gate on National Highway-275 on Tuesday night.

The deceased lawyer is B.P. Paramesh, a resident of Bannikuppe village in the taluk. He was also the Taluk Director of Nayaka Samaja.

On Tuesday at about 9 pm, Paramesh was proceeding on his bike towards his village and when he neared Jadaganakoppal Gate, a car hit the bike he was riding from behind resulting in Paramesh falling from his bike and sustaining serious head injuries. Though he was immediately rushed to Hunsur General Hospital, he succumbed to injuries there.

He is survived by his wife Radha, son Sukesh, daughter Supreeta and a host of relatives and friends. Last rites were held at the village.

Bilikere Police, who have registered a case, have initiated further action.
