Lecture-demo on ‘Ambabai’s Life and Works’ tomorrow

Mysore/Mysuru: Kalasuruchi and Devagitam Chari-table Trust have jointly organised  a lecture-demonstration on Ambabai’s Life and  Works by Dr. T.S. Sathyavathi and her disciples Ashwini Sathish and Lavanya Krishnamurthy and interaction with Dr. Shantha Nagaraj on Mar. 31 at Suruchi Rangamane in Kuvempunagar here at 10.30 am.

Profile: Dr. T.S. Sathyavathi is a Karnatak classical vocalist and scholar of international repute. She is a child prodigy who got to present two compositions before the Maharani of Mysore at the tender age of two.

Having received training in vocal music from her sister Vidushi Vasantha Madhavi and the doyen of Karnatak music Padma Bhushan awardee Vidwan R.K. Srikantan, she is also trained in mridanga playing.

Dr. Sathyavathi has been enthralling audiences with her profound classicism, sound hold on rhythm and Laya and nuanced portrayal of sahitya. Her lecture-demonstrations are noteworthy for their educative value as well as eloquence of her speech.
