Mysuru: The Department of Commerce and Management, St. Joseph’s College for Women at Sathagalli here had organised a guest lecture on the topic ‘International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)’ for B.Com and BBA students at its premises recently.

Dr. Shiva Prasad, Assistant Professor, PG Department of Commerce, Teresian College was the resource person.

He spoke on IFRS which is a set of International Accounting Standards stating how particular type of transaction and other events of business should be reported in Financial Statements and how IFRS would be adopted, countries yet to adopt, countries which are under convergence and harmonisation and various aspects of reporting Standards.

About 100 students and the Department teaching faculty attended the lecture session which was followed by a Question and Answer Session, according to a press release.
