Lecture series on ‘Girish Karnad’ begins

Mysuru, Nov.5 (SPN&SD)- “Many artistes working in the film industry these days are neglecting their personal life. Legendary playwright, actor Girish Karnad was an exception to this statement as he had a meaningful personal life other than his fame and fanfare,” opined the Centre of Excellence for Studies in Classical Kannada (CESCK) Senior Fellow Dr. R. Chalapati.

He was speaking as part of the Lecture Series on ‘Jnanpith awardee Girish Karnad,’ organised by Sanchalana Mysuru, which is being held at Vijaya Vittala College in Saraswathipuram here yesterday. “Girish Karnad is one of the most influential playwrights of our time. Even in the midst of his popularity as an actor and acclaimed playwright, he didn’t neglect his personal life which he lived to the fullest and with a purpose,” he said and briefed about life and works of Karnad including the thematic and technical aspects of his plays.

Convenor of Sanchalana team Deepak Mysore and thinker Bhairappa were present.
