Lecturers firm on evaluation boycott: MLC Srikantegowda

MLC Srikantegowda condemned Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Tanveer Sait for threatening to file cases against lecturers on boycotting the II PUC answer scripts evaluation.

Addressing press persons at Pathrakarthara Bhavan this morning, he said that it was shameful on the part of the Minister to threaten the lecturers of 6 months imprisonment.

“The lecturers have not announced to boycott evaluation overnight. We have been meeting and holding talks with the Minister for the past 5 months. The State Government which promised to provide the lecturers  two increments gave only one during the protest held last year. The increment which  was to be released during December, 2016 has still not been released”, he added.

Srikantegowda said that the lecturers will boycott the evaluation if their demands were not fulfilled before Mar. 26. He also asked the parents not to get anxious as the lecturers were committed not to harm students.
