To cover city colleges and hostels in four days
Mysuru: A Legal Awareness Vehicle of District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) was flagged off by DLSA Chairman and Principal District and Sessions Judge S.L. Krishnappa Vontigodi at the Court premises here this morning.
The vehicle will visit colleges and hostels in city for four days covering Kuvempu PU College in Kuvempunagar, JSS College in Saraswathipuram and Maharaja’s College Hostel near Ramaswamy today; Maharani’s PU College, Mother Teresa PU College in Srirampura and Yuvaraja’s College Women’s Hostel tomorrow; Sarada Vilas College, Kesare Government PU College and PG Men’s Hostel in Manasagangothri on Aug.3 and Sthree Shakti Bhavan, Lakshmipuram Government PU College and PG Women’s Hostel in Manasagangothri on Aug.4.
Lawyers travelling in the vehicle will provide legal awareness to public and students on fundamental rights, Motor Vehicles Act, prevention of harassment of women and other legal issues.
Speaking on the occasion, Judge Vontigodi said that legal awareness was important for everybody and asked the students and general public to make best use of the scheme.
DLSA Member-Secretary C.G. Mohammed Muzirullah, Mysore Bar Association President Ramamurthy and others were present on the occasion.
One more Family Court: The Second Additional Family Court started functioning from today at the Court premises. Vontigodi said that the Government has sanctioned three more Family Courts for the district and added that the other two would be commenced in a phased manner.
