Mysuru: As part of the ongoing Dasara Exhibition, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) has established a ‘Free Legal Information Centre’ at Dasara Exhibition Grounds here.
To make the services effective, a judicial officer, working in Mysuru City will be available for consultation at the Information Centre for an hour everyday.
Besides, a panel of advocates appointed by the DLSA and para-legal volunteers will also be available at the centre during the working hours. The team members will assist the people visiting the centre and also guide them on legal assistance, said Principal District and Sessions Court Judge S.K. Vantigodi.
The objective of the centre is to create legal awareness among the people. Visitors can get information about various services available, including free legal advice, Vantigodi said. People can also avail other services like drafting applications, transfer of khata, correction of names in Revenue records and various pension schemes among others.
In addition to this, the Legal Awareness Chariot will be stationed near the main entrance of the Exhibition Grounds.
The screen on the chariot will display the various services available in the form of telefilms. Similarly, books on various legal topics, will be available for sale at a nominal price of Rs.20.

Senior Civil Judge and DLSA Member-Secretary C.G. Mohammed Mujeerulla said the tableau will also depict ‘Janata Nyayalaya’ and ‘Mediation Committee.’
