To check over-pricing of masks, sanitisers, oximeters and other essentials 

Mysore/Mysuru: The Legal Metrology Department (Weights and Measures) has started a Helpline to check over-pricing of masks, sanitisers, oximeters and other essentials in pharmacies and shops. The Helpline has been set up following a Government Order in the wake of complaints that many essential commodities are sold for higher prices, misusing the Covid crisis exploiting consumers. 

People may complain against Fair Price Shops under the Public Distribution System of the Food and Civil Supplies Department if they are cheated in weights, if farm related shops over-charge for seeds, pesticides and chemical fertilisers and if provision stores or general stores overcharge for food items and groceries.
