Let those who consume beef eat at home and die: Yeddyurappa

Ballari: Former Chief Minister and BJP State President B.S. Yeddyurappa has expressed his anger at the Professors and others who had consumed beef in the Kalamandira premises in public view. “If they want to consume beef let them eat it at their houses and die,” he said yesterday.

He was reacting to a question posed by the media, regarding the eating of beef in the open in Mysuru and said that if they want let them eat beef in their houses and die but to eat beef in public is an unpardonable sin. No one will excuse such an act. Everyone should boycott the people who have eaten beef in Kalamandira premises. The State Government should act against them, he urged.

At a seminar organised by Charvaka Social and Cultural Trust on June 25 at Maneyangala in Kalamandira premises, Prof. Mahesh Chandra Guru, Prof. K.S. Bhagawan and others had consumed beef before the inauguration of the conference organised by them on the subject ‘Eating habits and freedom of the individual.’

The BJP had strongly opposed this action and demanded that all those who had eaten beef be arrested immediately.

The BPJ activists staged a demonstration near the STF Circle in Mysuru yesterday.
