Playback singer Sangeetha Ravindranath comes up with a project titled Virtual Raga’s to financially support performing artistes

Mysore/Mysuru: Ragarashmi Foundation for Art and Culture, run by playback singer Sangeetha Ravindranath, has come up with a new venture “Virtual Raga’s” – a series of online concerts brought to your homes from the artiste’s home.

These series will feature musicians from across the globe, to perform on the Foundation’s Facebook page. The purpose of the project is to financially support the performing artistes and the artistes in need. Hence, all the performing artistes will be paid an honorarium.

The first series of five episodes featuring six artistes of Karnataka promoting Bhavageete and Folk music — Supriya Raghunandan, Nithin Rajaram Shastry, Chintan Vikas, Mangala Ravi, Manoj Vasishta and Arundathi Vasishta — were conducted from July 1 to 6. 

The upcoming series will shortly begin during the last week of July, featuring genres like western music, Karnatak classical music, Hindustani classical music with a variety of themes. The series will also be themed with remembering various legendaries like Dr. C. Ashwath, Mysore Ananthaswamy, and Raju Ananthaswamy, talking about different plays, writers and poets.
