Libraries asked to follow COVID precautionary measures

In the wake of a spurt in COVID-19 cases in the State, the City Central Library has asked all Branch and service Libraries to take all COVID-19 precautionary measures in accordance with Government guidelines.

In a press release, the Deputy Director of Libraries Manjunath  said that all the Library In-charges in the city and district have been asked to ensure that all readers who visit Libraries, adhere to COVID appropriate behaviour.

Pointing out that the in-charges have to make sure that all the readers have received 2 doses of COVID vaccine, he said that such readers who have not  yet received two jabs should be suitably advised on getting vaccinated. Stressing on the need for sanitising the Library premises every day and to carry out thermal screening checks on visitors, he said that those who record more than normal body temperature or found having COVID like symptoms, must not be disallowed to enter the Library.  Also, the in-charge persons should immediately  inform the COVID call centre if any visitor shows symptoms, the release stated.
