LIC Agents launch stir seeking fulfillment of demands

Mysore/Mysuru: LIC Agents under the banner of All India LIC Agents Association, Mysuru Unit, Branch-2, Bannimantap, launched a week-long stir in front of LIC Branch-2 office in Bannimantap here on Thursday.

The demands include a hike in bonus on LIC policies, reduction of Interest rate on loans against LIC policies, better service to LIC policy holders, facilitation of revival of policies that have lapsed over five years, utilisation of unclaimed Policies only for welfare of Policy holders in general, sanction of educational loan to children of Agents, increase of gratuity to 10 lakhs to Agents, increase commission , a demand that has been pending for long, extension of ICCM to branch level, coverage of all certified agents under Group Medi-claim health cover and to introduce pension scheme for Agents out of agents contribution, among others.

Addressing the protestors, the Association General Secretary D. Puttaswamy urged the Government to fulfil the long-standing just demands of LIC Agents who play a vital role in the growth of LIC. The protest will go on till Sept. 7, he added.
