Mysuru: Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMC&RI) previously called as Mysore Medical College will be having a lift facility soon.
The PWD has taken up the work of installing the lift and the work is in progress. The civil works is estimated to cost Rs.11 lakh and the cost of lift and electrical works is estimated at Rs.36 lakh. The contract has been awarded through tender process.
The work will be completed in one month’s time, said the sources in the Electrical Department.
The Institute which will be entering its centenary year shortly is also proud of its heritage building. In the first floor, it houses the Dean and Director’s office, Chief Administrator’s office, Administration office, laboratories, classrooms and auditorium. Hence, to facilitate the Professors, staff and students to reach the first floor easily, a lift is being installed to the first floor near the main entrance to the college.
