Linguistics Lab to come up in Varakodu Government School

Mysore/Mysuru: In yet another step concerning improvement of infrastructure in Government Schools, the Education Department authorities have proposed to set up a Linguistics Lab at Government Higher Primary and High School at Varakodu in the taluk.

Kannada Development Authority member Gubbigoodu Ramesh visited the School on Sunday for reviewing the facilities available there.

Speaking to Star of Mysore after visiting the School, Ramesh said that the Authority has the power to set up such a Linguistic Laboratory in one Government School in every district.

Pointing out that the School has classes from 1 to 10, he said that the School has all  infrastructure and there is no problem for setting up a Linguistics Lab.

Noting that the School has over 500 students, he said that most of the students are from rural areas  and hence there is  need for a Linguistic Laboratory to empower students with language skills.

He further said that an overhead projector screen is required for the Lab, for which he will try to get funds from the Government. Varakodu Paper Mill owner Anantha Prasad, School teachers Narasimhamurthy, Shivaprasad and Ramesh were present during the inspection.
