Mysuru: Lions Club of Mysore Crown along with Lions Club of Mysore Relish felicitated two War Veterans — Havaldar D. Javaregowda and Retired Junior Commissioned Officer C.R. Raju — who served in the Indian Army at a programme in city recently.
Havaldar Javaregowda, dedicating two decades of his life to the service of the nation, had bravely participated in several military engagements including 1962 Indo-China War, 1965 Indo-Pakistan War and 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War.
Raju, a proud participant in Operation Vijay (Kargil War) in 1999, also had the distinction of serving three postings in Jammu & Kashmir, an intense counter insurgency terrorist area and an active field area near the Line of Control (LoC).
