Lions West to host Health and Wellness Event on Nov. 17

Mysuru: Lions Club of Mysore West will conduct a day-long Health and Wellness Event on Sunday (Nov. 17). 

It will take off with a 5-km walk at 6.30 am, ‘Yoganidra – A deep relaxation workshop’ by Guru Bharath Shetty at 8.30 am followed by free medical check-up camp including eye check-up at Lions Sevaniketan School in Gokulam. 

As a concluding part of the mega event, legendary violinist Dr. Mysore Manjunath and renowned flautist Pt. Pravin Godkhindi will present a unique  fusion concert at Jaganmohan Palace auditorium at 6 pm. Proceeds from this flagship project will be used to augment the Lions West Kidney Endowment Fund that provides dialysis support to economically weak renal failure patients, at subsidised cost.  

 “We have had 15,000 dialysis sessions so far since inception  in 2008. Our aim is to increase the numbers every year,” said Lion Dr. Mahesh Rao, Club President. 

Besides helping renal failure patients, the organisation also provides artificial limbs to the needy, runs a CBSE school, contributes towards girl child education through a scholarship programme and conducts vocational training programmes for underprivileged section of society.
