Mysuru: District Kannada Sahitya Parishat is organising a literary and cultural event as part of International Women’s Day celebrations on Mar. 10, at RamaGovinda Rangamandira in Ramakrishnanagar.
Programmes like staging of play by women, dance performances, kolata, group singing and dancing and others have been organised to mark Women’s Day. A Talking Doll Show by artiste M. Kavya has also been organised on the occasion.
Scientist and theatre person Srimati Hariprasad, social activist Pileti Anasuyamma, Deaf School Teacher Parimalamurthy, Broadcaster Dr. Vijaya Haran, Spiritual Thinker Dr. S. Sudha Ramesh and B.K. Meenakshi from the field of Education will be felicitated at the function.
The function will be inaugurated by M.K. Savita, Registrar of University of Mysore (UoM). Retired Principal Dr. S. Sudha Ramesh will preside over the inaugural. Mysuru District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Maddikere Gopal will deliver the inaugural address. Sanskrit Scholar Dr. K. Leela Prakash will also speak at the function.
Secretary of Nrupatunga Kannada School Pavitra Mallesh, Social Activist Dr. K. Raghuram Vajpayee and writer S. Ramaprasad will participate as special invitees.
Sneha Sinchana Trust and Parishat Hon. Secretary M.N. Latha Mohan, Parishat Women’s Wing President Dr. Ratna Halappagowda, Social Activist Susheela Shyamsundar and Vijaya Sudarshan of Gelati Mahila Mandali will also participate.
