Mysore/Mysuru: Awareness on the promotion of local products under Airport as Venue for Skilled Artisans of the Region (AVSAR) initiative, was discussed during a special radio programme conducted by JSS Radio 91.2 FM, a Community Radio Station (CRS) of JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Ooty Road, here recently.
It was to create awareness about the promotion of local products and Self-Help Group (SHG) initiatives under the AVSAR scheme, with a focus on opportunities at Mysore Airport.
Director of Mysore Airport P.V. Ushakumari and Senior Manager Abhishek Joshi shared valuable insights on how airport platforms are being utilised to empower local artisans, entrepreneurs and SHGs.
During the discussion, the two highlighted the role of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) in supporting regional economic development through initiatives such as AVSAR and One Airport One Product (OAOP). They explained how these programmes provide platforms for indigenous products, enabling rural producers and SHGs to access wider markets, enhance their income and sustain traditional crafts.
The programme was hosted by Shivakumar, Coordinator and Presenter at JSS Radio.
