Lockdown: Allow vehicles between 6 am and 10 am

Picture shows City Cops on lockdown duty enquiring the riders about their movement on Bengaluru-Nilgiri Road this morning.

Sir,

Imposition of ‘Janata Curfew’ or ‘Lockdown’ to avoid spread of Corona in the State, though a good idea, needs some rethinking. Mysuru City Police have directed that no vehicle will be allowed ‘even’ between 6 am and 10 am. That means people have to walk the distance to buy their requirements.

The area where we stay doesn’t have such a facility and we have to walk a minimum of 1 1/2 km. Being a senior citizen people like me find it very difficult. Instead of being over enthusiastic, City Police should allow vehicles during the relaxation period, that is between 6 am and 10 am daily.

Any violations may be handled in a tough manner. Hope, the Police authorities will review their decision.
