The National Lok Adalat will take place as per the directions of Karnataka State Legal Services Authority at all Courts in the city and district tomorrow. This is the first Lok Adalat of the year 2022. Senior Civil Judge Devaraj Bhute, who is also the Member-Secretary of Mysuru District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), said that the Lok Adalat will be held in all City and Taluk Courts of the district.
There are a total of 1,29,778 cases pending in the city and district, out of which 51,379 are civil cases and 78,339 criminal cases. Pointing out that 1,01,107 cases have been classified as solvable through amicable settlement, he said that 64,342 of them have been considered for settlement. All types of Civil, Criminal Compoundable and Pre-litigation cases will be taken up at the Lok Adalat, he said. Highlighting the benefits of the Lok Adalat, Judge Bhute asked the litigants to make good use of the Adalat for settlement of cases through mediation or counselling or conciliation and thus save time and money.
