Mysuru: Even as the nation-wide stir called by the All India Confederation of Goods Vehicle Owners Association (ACOGOA) entered the second day today, the strike had no impact in the city, as lorries plied as usual.
The Mysuru District Lorry Owners Association has not supported the strike.
Speaking to Star of Mysore, the Association President B. Kodandaramu said that operation of trucks and lorries is as usual in city as the Association has not extended support to the indefinite stir.
Pointing out that the Association would, however, support the nationwide strike called by the All India Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC) starting from July 20, he said that the strike is to protest against rising prices of diesel, abnormal hike in third party insurance premium, exorbitant tolls on highways and other issues.
He urged the Centre to address the problems of the truckers as rising fuel prices coupled with other problems are devastating the truck owners.
