Lorry stir enters fifth day

The ongoing indefinite strike by lorry owners, who are demanding a roll back in the hiked Third  Party Insurance premium among other demands, has entered the fifth day today. With the exemption of transportation of essential commodities, the stir has marginally affected the common man, as most of the commodities are available at present.

S.K. Dinesh, President of Petroleum Dealers Association, speaking to SOM, said that  they have not received any               correspondence from the Petroleum Tankers Association to join the ongoing stir. He expressed confidence that the strike would be called off in a day or two and as of now, ruled out fuel scarcity as fuel tankers are transporting fuel as per schedule.
