Hunsur: A two-wheeler rider was killed on the spot when a truck transporting LPG cylinders rammed into the bike on NH-275 near Kiranahalli village in Periyapatna taluk on Jan. 28 night.
The deceased has been identified as Dinesh (48), son of late Sannamarigowda, a resident of Davani Street in Hunsur town.
Dinesh had taken his arecanut cutting machine for repairs to Periyapatna on his bike (KA-50-E-0105) and was returning at about 10.30 pm. When he was proceeding near Kiranahalli village Gate, the truck (KA-10-A-1445), which came from the opposite direction rammed into the bike killing him on the spot.
Periyapatna Inspector Govindaraju, Head Constables Madhu and staff Lingarajappa and Rajegowda, who reached the spot, conducted mahazar, registered a case and shifted the body to the General Hospital mortuary besides seizing both the vehicles involved in the accident.
Dinesh is survived by his wife and one son. The body was handed over to the family members after the post-mortem yesterday.
Last rites were performed in the town yesterday evening.
