Mysuru: Mysore Medical College Alumni Association is holding a two-day MAA Utsav 2017 on Dec.9 and 10 at the MMC Platinum Jubilee Auditorium, J.K. Grounds.
Addressing a press meet here yesterday at Pathrakartara Bhavan, MAA President Dr. H.T. Chidananda said that Adichunchungiri Mutt Seer Sri Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji will inaugurate the festival on Dec.9 at 5.30 pm.
Former Vice-Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) Dr. Kantha Jadhav will be the chief guest. Former RGUHS Vice-Chancellor Dr. S. Chandrashekar Shetty, Dean and Director, Mysore Medical College and Research Institute, Dr. S. Radhamani and Director of Institute of Diabetology, Bengaluru, Dr. M.A. Shekar will be the guests of honour.
On this occasion, a Research Fund of Rs. One crore for Post Graduate Medical Student collected by MMC-67 batch of students will be launched. Gym-K, a book written by Dr. Hirennegowda, will be released. Twenty senior doctors from 1955 batch will be felicitated as part of the Utsav, said Dr. Chidananda.

However, on Dec.9, a ‘Scientific Programme’ has been organised, which will be inaugurated by Acharya Dr. M. Nagaraju, Gastroenterologist, Suvaranamukhi Samskhruthi Dhama, Bengaluru, at 9 am at MMC Platinum Jubilee Auditorium.
