Madiwala women asked to enrol as members of Association

Mysore/Mysuru: The Karnataka State Madiwala Mahila Sangha has urged women community members to enrol themselves as members of the Association, as it will help them in their empowerment.

Addressing a press meet here on Monday, Madiwala Mahila Sangha Founder-President N.R. Vijayalakshmi Anjanappa said that the community is a backward community in all aspects and as such, women members of the community should become members of the Sangha for the sake of their empowerment.

Pointing out that the Sangha has launched a Statewide   membership registration drive, Vijayalakshmi  said that the drive is being conducted at the city, taluk and hobli levels in Mysuru district, which has a significant Madiwala population.

Noting that education is vital for development and growth, she called upon the community members to educate their children.

Explaining the objectives of the Sangha, she urged the Government to include the community under SC category.

Sangha office-bearers Bhagyamma, Vasanthakumari, Jayalakshmi, Savitha and Netravathi Srinivas were present during the press meet.
