Maharaja High School and PU College Alumni Association to celebrate Mummadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar’s birth anniversary on July 14

Mysuru: During 1833, Maharaja High School was started as Raja’s Free School by the Maharaja Mummadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar. 

Born on July 14, 1794, Mum-madi was a great patron of Art and Literature.  Maharaja High School and PU College Alumni Association will be celebrating his birthday on July 14 (Sunday) as “Jayanti and  Founder’s Day” along with the staff and students of the Institution. The old students get-together will also be on the same day.

MLA L. Nagendra will inau-gurate the celebrations by garlanding the bust of Mummadi in front of the Institution at 10.30 am. This follows a stage programme at its Nalwadi Krishnaraj Wadiyar Auditorium. Old student and dramatist M.S. Sathyu will be the chief guest. B. S. Sridhara Raj Urs, President of Alumni Asssociation, will preside. 

Meritorious students of Maharaja High School will be felicitated with cash prizes. Satyu will also be felicitated. 

Senior alumni Dr. C.D. Sreeni-vasa Murthy, Dr. Chandrashekar of Aditya Hospital, S.V. Gowdappa, President of Elder Citizens Council Trust, M.N. Baldeva Raj Urs, Retired Joint Commissioner of Transport Department and many more old students will be present on the occasion.

Siddaraju, College Principal and Mahesh, Vice-Principal will be the guests of honour, according to a press release.
