Mysuru: The National Service Scheme (NSS) wing of Maharaja’s College, marking the launch of its activities, had organised a blood donation camp at the College premises here this morning.
Students of the College voluntarily donated blood.
Speaking on the occasion, K.R. Hospital Blood Bank Officer Dr. Manjunath said that many people still have apprehension on donating blood.
He clarified that blood donation was safe as only a small quantity was drawn but the donor should be preferably between 18 and 45 years with a good Hb count.
State-level Swayam Sevak awardee G. Madhu Singh and State R-Day NSS awardee H.E. Abhishek were felicitated on the occasion.
The camp was inaugurated by Dr. B. Chandrashekar, NSS Convenor, University of Mysore.
College Principal Dr. B. Nagaraj Murthy, NSS Programme Officers Dr. Namadeva Maruti Gowda, Dr. M.B. Suresh and others were present during the blood donation camp.
