Mysuru: The renovated Library of Maharaja’s High School fitted with fans and multimedia equipment at a cost of about Rs. 3.4 lakh was inaugurated recently and dedicated to the memory of late M.S. Srinivas Murthy, who was a teacher of the school, by his wife, 84-year-old Ramadevi and donor son Dr. M.S. Keshavan from America. His brother M.S. Sridhar from Bengaluru, who supervised the work periodically, was present along with the extended family members of Murthy.
Dr. Keshavan, speaking on the occasion, said that he acquired knowledge by studying in the Library more than from his teachers. He advised students to utilise the new facility and thanked the institution for giving him an opportunity to contribute to the growth of the school and perpetuate the memory of his father.
School Principal Siddaraju also spoke. B.S. Sridhar Raj Urs, President of the School’s Alumni Association, presided.
Dr. Mahesh Vice-Principal, delivered the introductory address. Teachers H.B. Mahesh welcomed while Nagasunder proposed a vote of thanks. Jayaram Bhat compered. Gowdappa, old student and President of Elder Citizen’s Council Trust and M.R. Suresh, Secretary, Alumni Association, were also present.
