Mysuru: The Cultural Forum of Maharani’s Women’s Commerce and Management College in Paduvarahalli (Vinayakanagar) here had organised ‘Kannada Habba’ at its premises recently, to commemorate the 69th Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations.
Speaking after inaugurating ‘Kannada Habba,’ Chamaraja MLA K. Harishgowda said that, we can be at peace if our mother tongue and culture are protected.
“We all must love Kannada language and the culture of our State. Kannada has a rich legacy and we all should be proud of it,” the MLA added.
Advising students to get acquainted with skill-based education in addition to their education in this competitive world, MLA Harishgowda said that the students must prepare themselves for competitive examinations and carve out a good future. Education and cultural activities help students to reach greater heights, he said.
The MLA also assured that he will soon lay foundation stone for the second phase of development works of the college and construction of a student hostel which can accommodate 500 inmates.
Kannada & Culture Department Joint Director V.N. Mallikarjunaswamy, who also spoke at the function, recalled the services of numerous great men who fought for the unification of Karnataka. “Kannada has its own history and every student must understand the diverse cultural aspects of Karnataka,” he added.
