When Maharani’s students let their hair down…

Students of Maharani’s College for Women displayed their culinary and marketing skills during the Kala Santhe at the College premises in city yesterday. Students prepared a wide variety of dishes including vegetable pulav, chicken biryani, ragi mudde, naati koli saaru, China Grass desserts, bajji, bonda, chapathi, jowar roti, ucchellu chutney, yennegai, juices and snacks from the rural belt of Karnataka. The Santhe, being held annually, gave them an opportunity to sell their products which sold like hot cakes. Apart from food stalls, students had set up outlets to sell artificial jewellery, imitation jewellery and small embroidery items. Several entertainment programmes including dances and games were also organised. Pocketing the profits earned at the Kala Santhe, students giggled and said that they had earned some money for the first time.
