Maharani’s students, NSUI leaders stage silent stir for bus facility

Mysore/Mysuru: A silent protest was staged by the students of Maharani’s Women’s Commerce and Management College, Paduvarahalli under the banner of National Students Union of India (NSUI), Karnataka, in the city on Thursday, demanding adequate KSRTC bus facility to the College.

The protest was staged in front of the bus stop near the College, with the protesting students holding placards with Kannada slogans ‘Beke Beku Bus Beku’ and waving NSUI flags to draw the attention of authorities concerned towards the issue.

A memorandum addressed to Divisional Controller, KSRTC, Mysuru, by the General Secretary, NSUI, Karnataka, H. A. Rafiq Ali, stated that “Due to lack of adequate bus connectivity, the students are facing difficulty in reaching the College in the morning hours, forcing them to walk to College for 2 kms. Similar is the situation after College hours in the evening. Despite submitting memoranda for the past two years, there is no response yet.”

Congress leader Dr. H.V. Sushruth Gowda, Corporator Pailwan Srinivas and several NSUI leaders took part in the protest.
