Mysore/Mysuru: The group led by D. Gowramma emerged victorious in the elections to the Board of Directors (2024-2028) of Mysuru District Mahila Co-operative Bank held in city on Sunday.
The group won 10 out of the 19 seats, thus gaining a simple majority.
Polling took place at Hardwicke High School near Ramaswamy Circle from 9 am to 4 pm on Sunday, following which the counting of votes was taken up.
The victorious candidates are: D. Gowramma (749 votes), K.N. Kalpana ( 573 votes), P. Geetha (697), S. Prema Shankaregowda (704), M.S. Bharathi (558), P. Bharathi (611), Modamani (640), Manjula Manasa (728), B.S. Latha (639) and Dr. M. Sharada (710).
The other group led by Dr. M.V. Bruhadamba could win 9 seats, thus falling short of one seat to gain majority. The winners from this group are: Dr. M.V. Bruhadamba (794 votes), Prabhamani (680), Prabha Surendra (737), Dr. N.M. Bhageerathi (569), B.T. Bhageerathi (502), S. Mahalakshmi (472), Meena Srinivas (640), Dr. D. Sheela Kumari (713) and Susheela Nanjappa (771).
There were a total of 41 candidates in the fray, including three independents. There were a total of 2,272 eligible voters from Mysuru and Chamarajanagar districts, according to Returning Officer B.R. Raghu, who officially declared the winners after the counting of votes concluded late on Sunday evening.
