Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G. Sankar  has directed the officials to make all necessary preparations for Republic Day Celebrations that will be held on Jan.26 at Bannimantap Torch Light Parade Grounds.    

Chairing the preliminary meeting convened to discuss the preparations held at his office  recently, he said that the Higher Education and District Minister G.T. Devegowda will hoist the Tricolour on that day at 9 am. Cultural programmes will be held at 5 pm in Kalamandira.

He instructed the officials to arrange breakfast, transportation facilities for all the 3,000 students taking part in the cultural events scheduled at Torch Light Parade Grounds.

A Selection Committee, chaired by Superintendent of Police (SP), has been constituted to distribute prizes for best troupes and cultural groups performing at the grounds.
