Sir,
Nice to see some roads in Mysuru are re-plastered and tarred but we see only good roads are being re-done again and again and that too on patch-work basis.
But, however, two things are neglected by the authorities who take up these works.
Firstly, the interior roads of certain layouts and colonies which are in very poor condition are neglected although we have complained many times before.
Secondly, the condition of the footpaths all around Mysuru in many places are extremely uneven, shabby and one can’t walk from the road to the footpaths to reach a shop there!
When the authorities concerned cannot take-up the footpath works, at least the shopkeepers should be warned to keep the front portion of their shops neat and uniform. It is to be noted that some of the very big retail shops have made beautiful footpaths in front and also with good vehicle parking.
I am ashamed when I see even some banks don’t keep their front footpaths clean and even. It is a big problem for seniors to cross the footpaths and enter the bank or office.
Why can’t the authorities take note of all these little but very vital aspects?
We can never call our city “Swachh Mysuru” unless and until all the roads and footpaths are clean and tidy. Then only some indisciplined commoner will think twice before throwing garbage all over the footpaths.
