Man accused of cheating people over allotment of sites

Mysuru: Udayagiri Police have booked a man on changes of cheating a murder of people to the tune of lakhs of rupees on the pretext of getting them sites.

Nizam Ali has now gone absconding, Nizam Ali, who had created fake documents of 2,000 sites in a 10-acre area, near Lingambudhi Lake in 2005, had put up an advertisement in newspapers stating that a large number of sites were available for sale.

The gullible site buyers, after believing the advertisement, paid anything between Rs.1 lakh and 10 lakh to book their sites.

But as Nizam Ali failed to allot sites as promised, after collecting the money, over 300 people lodged a complaint with the Consumer  Court.

Although the Consumer Court served him notice a number of times to appear before it, Nizam failed to appear.

Now, one B.N. Umesh, a resident of Kuvempunagar, has lodged a complaint with the Udayagiri Police accusing Syed Nizam Ali of cheating him of allotment of a site.

The Udayagiri Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are on the look out for Nizam Ali, who has gone absconding.
