Man bludgeoned to death on Udayagiri Main Road

A man was found murdered on the Main Road at Udayagiri late last night. He was bludgeoned by a stone beyond recognition and his body bore multiple injury marks.

According to the Police, the body was found on the M.G. Road on the southern direction of the Udayagiri Main Road near the spot where RSS activist Raju was murdered on March 13, 2016. The dead body was noticed by some passers-by and walkers early in the morning and they alerted the Police.

Police said that the victim might be 25 to 30 years of age, looking at his physical features. The identity of the victim is yet to be established and the Police said that the killers had disfigured the man’s face by repeatedly hitting it with a stone. Injury marks were also found all over his body.

Local residents who had gathered at the spot and the Police have suspected that the murdered person could be a rag-picker. He might be murdered in a drunken brawl, the Police said. The body has been shifted to MMC&RI mortuary and Udayagiri Police have registered a case.
