Man cheats teacher of Rs. 11.76 lakh

Mysore/Mysuru: An unidentified man, on the pretext of marrying a teacher, has cheated her by getting over Rs. 11 lakh transferred through UPI and RTGS from her Bank account and a case has been registered at CEN Police Station. The teacher, who has been cheated, is a resident of Vijayanagar 4th Stage.

In her complaint, the teacher has stated that the unidentified man, who introduced himself as Sachin, told her that he got her phone number from a matrimonial website and expressed his desire to marry her after coming from abroad.

After a few days, he called her and informed her that he had sent a gift containing 47,000 Euros for which she had to pay taxes. Citing various taxes, he got a total of Rs. 11,76,500 transferred from her Bank account via UPI and RTGS, thus cheating her. Realising that the man had cheated her, the teacher lodged a complaint at CEN Police Station on Jan. 2.
