Man dead after falling into drain at Siddarthanagar: Rs. 5 lakh compensation given to deceased family

Mysore/Mysuru: Following instructions from Krishnaraja (KR) MLA S.A. Ramdas, MCC Ward No. 53 Corporator Dr. Roopa Yogesh, handed over the compensation cheque for Rs. 5 lakh from the State Government’s Disaster Fund to the family members of Chandregowda, who had died after falling into a big drain.

A resident of Vinaya Marga in Siddarthanagar, Chandregowda had slipped and fell  into the big drain, which was flowing in full force following heavy rains on Oct. 24 night  and was swept away.

The body was retrieved by MCC’s Abhaya team staff and Fire and Emergency Services personnel from Karanji Lake at on Oct. 25. MLA’s Personal Secretary Krishna was present during the handing over of the cheque.
