Mysuru: A 40-year-old man from the city met a watery grave when he went for a swim at Balamuri in Srirangapatna taluk yesterday.
Ramu (40), son of late Basavaraju and a resident of EWS colony, Subramanyanagar, Hebbal is the deceased.
Ramu, a tanker driver by profession, had been to Balamuri along with his four friends yesterday afternoon. Ramu who ventured into the Cauvery waters for a swim, drowned minutes later, it is learnt.
KRS Police have registered a case in this regard. The Police said that despite several measures taken, five people have drowned in Balamuri and Yedamuri waters this month.
