Man ends life over friends pledging his car

Mysore/Mysuru: Dejected over his friends who allegedly pledged his car after hiring the vehicle, a car driver-cum-owner committed suicide at Udayagiri Police Station limits in city recently.

Mujahid Pasha (50) of Rajivnagar Second Stage in the city, is the deceased person. He allegedly ended his life by hanging at his house after sending his wife out to buy new clothes. Following the incident, Pasha’s wife has lodged a complaint against two persons named Asgar and Sallu at Udayagiri Police Station.

Pasha, who was a professional car driver, had stopped going for work and was staying at home always in a depressed state. Even after his wife enquired about his ordeal, he didn’t share anything with her. When asked about the car, he had told about Asgar and Sallu hiring the vehicle and later pledging the same with another person. Even after several requests, they were not getting the vehicle released and also Asgar, who had taken money on several occasions, was not returning the amount, Pasha had reportedly told his wife.

In her complaint, Pasha’s wife has stated that “On Apr. 3 at about 8 pm, my husband gave Rs. 2,000 telling to buy grocery and clothes for children for the festival. As my elder son had gone for Namaz, I took my second son along with my elder sister to a shop near Prabha Talkies. When I returned home, I found my husband hanging at the bedroom of the house. He was rushed to a hospital, where the doctor declared him  brought dead.”
